SEASIDE KIDS CLUB IS ABOUT AS FUN AT IT GETS FOR KIDS’ SUMMER ENTERTAINMENT: KICKING OFF THIS MONTH
VENTURA, Calif. — Summertime is fun in the sun, kids at the seashore and exploration beyond the classroom. Ventura Harbor Village announces the second-year return of the popular Seaside Kids Club on Thursdays from July 13 – August 10, 2017 from 11 AM – NOON down at the waterfront. Kids will immerse themselves in a new seaside theme activity, entertainment and craft each Thursday at Ventura Harbor Village.
Cost is $2/session per child to participate. Sign in starts at 10:30 AM at the Carousel Mezzanine directly across from Coffee Dock & Post and outside the Village Carousel & Arcade
New this year is the Seaside Kids Club Membership, where for $10, each child receives a Club stamp card good for a complimentary stuffed animal after three visits, a 50 cent off wooden nickel for the entire family at Coastal Cone, special goodies each week and a guarantee name on the Seaside Kids Club list (space is limited weekly). Or, join in the fun every Thursday for just $2 kids experience a different theme each week like Pirate Boot Camp, Under the Sea with a mermaid, a Harbor Scavenger Hunt, art classes, and puppet shows. The Ventura Harbor Village Seaside Kids Club is perfect for kids ages 4-10 years old and each child receives stickers and a chance to win a Seaside themed-goodie basket for joining the Harbor Village’s eNewsletter.

JULY 13, 2017: Yo Ho! Yo Ho! Pirates Boot Camp
If it’s adventure you be seekin’ mateys then Ventura Harbor is the place. Capt. Jack and his crew member will lead a fun, and interactive Pirate Boot Camp where each pirate will get some Pirate booty, a pirate tattoo, and a Pirates Boot Camp Certification. Come dressed to impress even the most revered pirate to join in the seaside fun and take photos with the pirates! Plus, all pirates be makin’ a shark craft before the day is through to take home!
JULY 20, 2017: Under the Sea
Harbor Village welcomes Mermaid Maya to entertain and visit with the Seaside Kids Club. Be mesmerized by her ukulele and listen to the tales of the sea. Take photos with the mermaid following the entertainment and get a mermaid kiss. Mermaid costumes are always welcome. Each mermaid and merman will make their own Ocean Slime and take home “Fish in a Bag” with the slime that you create.
JULY 27, 2017: Ocean Fun!
Chalk artist Randall Williams creates a fun and interactive piece for the Seaside Club Kids to create a unique photo opp for each child! Plus, Randall teaches basic drawing skills of how to create ocean animals. Then each Seaside Club participant will make paint and create their own fishbowl craft using mini shells, fish and a variety of materials.
AUGUST 3, 2017: Seaside Love
Join Santa Barbara & Summer Solstice Artist Carlos Cuellar Esparza for an artsy Thursday full of color, love and fun! All Seaside Kids Club participants will contribute to a 12-foot-long canvas mural on the Village Main Lawn with paint. (Please plan to wear clothes accordingly) The message of Seaside Love will continue with painted hands to make take home art work of crabs and lobsters.
AUGUST 10, 2017: Puppets on Parade & Sea Creature Crafts
Back by popular demand from last year, Seaside Kids Club presents Franklin Haynes Marionettes with a new show “Puppets on Parade!” This 30-minute show is funny and interactive, and includes an educational workshop on puppets from around the world. Seaside Kids Club participants get a finger puppet and some fun handouts! Then it’s off to create colorful artwork with Ventura’s Macaroni Kid as we use macaroni to enhance starfish, rainbow fish and other sea creatures to take home.
